GOAL:

  • Support data collection at all levels (local, regional, state, national), to facilitate uniformity of data points and data collection processes, to serve as a review board for data requests, and to disseminate survey/research findings.

Operations:

  • The Data & Research (D&R) Chair is appointed by the President with approval of the Board of Directors. D&R may select a Co-chair. At least on one of the Co-chairs shall be an active NASSNC member and the other may be a retired member.
  • The immediate past president shall serve on this committee.
  • Works with NASSNC membership to identify and collect common data points.
  • Members are encouraged to use the Forums page of the website to post questions and requests for resources by topic. Responses are posted by topic so that the discussion and resources can be retrieved at a later date.
  • D&R reviews requests for additional or more specific data, supports members by refining surveys and assists with summarizing findings. The D&R Chair and the Technology Committee have access to Survey Monkey to facilitate detailed data collection.
  • D&R reviews posted surveys biennially (even years) in the first quarter.
  • Analyzes and summarizes data collected by NASSNC at the national level for dissemination internally and externally following approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Establishes guidelines for NASSNC participation in research initiatives for approval by the Board of Directors.
